The New York Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Center invites you to a grand celebration of our 60th Anniversary on Sunday, July 28, 2024.

To celebrate sixty years of serving New York City, we will be hosting a day of puja, classes, talks, and satsanga, featuring several Sivananda teachers including: Srinivasan, Swami Gangananda, Swami Sitaramananda (by zoom from California), Kanti Devi and Swami Rajeshwarananda (from the Sivananda Camp in Quebec), Swami Jnaneswariananda from California, and Satyadev and Satyabhama from the Yoga Ranch.

Basic Schedule is as follows:

07.00am: Puja with the priest- Pt Manoj Panigraha
09.00am: Yoga class
10.45am: Vegetarian Brunch
12.00-1.00pm: Yoga for Self Healing- Sw Sitaramananda (on Zoom)
1.30-3pm: Yoga for Change & Challenges- Sw Jnaneswariananda
3.30-5.00pm: Special Class with Satyadev
05.00pm: Snack
5.30-8.30pm: Satsang with Srinivasan, Kanti Devi, Sw Jnaneswariananda, Sw Rajesjwarayananda, Sw Gangananda, Satyadev and Satyabhama
8.30pm: Soup

Please arrive at least ten minutes early before start time to sign-up.

Although pre-registration is not required to attend the event it is appreciated.

What to bring:

-Wear or bring loose, comfortable clothing suitable for doing Yoga
This is a place of Spiritual Practice so you are requested to be dressed modestly
-A Yoga mat or towel (to place over mats provided). Towels are also available for rent of $3.

Teachers

Swami Jnaneswariananda joined the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers in 1995 and has been director of centers and ashrams in Canada and Italy. She teaches Hatha Yoga, Meditation, Anatomy, and Vedanta at Teacher Training Courses in North America, Italy and India. Swami Jnaneswariananda took vows of Sannyas in 2001. She is currently a senior teacher at the Yoga Farm in Grass Valley. She teaches with great enthusiasm and humor.

Swami Jnaneswariananda has a Phd in Biomedical Engineering and is an excellent teacher of anatomy and physiology and yoga philosophy. She is a senior teacher and director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Farm and is part of Sivananda Institute of Health and Yoga (SIHY), the health branch of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers.

Srinivasan

Director of the Sivananda Ashram Yoga Ranch and Acharya (senior teacher) in the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers organization, Srinivasan has dedicated his life to the propagation of the classical teachings of Yoga. An internationally recognized teacher of Raja Yoga and Hatha Yoga, Srinivasan served and studied with his guru and Yoga master, Swami Vishnudevananda, and now teaches around the world, continuing to carry the teachings as a direct disciple.

Swami Gangananda is a senior teacher in the Sivananda lineage.  Swamiji spent 30 years practicing and teaching by Ganga in Uttarkashi, India.  Now she resides at the Sivananda Yoga Ranch in New York.  Swamiji teaches with a friendly smile and a big heart.

 

 

 

Satyadev and Satyabhama

Satyadev (from Germany) is an Advanced Sivananda Yoga Teacher and since 2005 is one of the main Hatha Yoga teachers in the Sivananda Yoga Teacher Training Courses in the Bahamas, Colombia, and Argentina. And together with Satyabhama (from Colombia) are called to share the valuable teachings that have given them a lot of internal wealth in their lives.
